England’s International Pancake Race returns

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - The International Pancake Race returns to England after an absence in 2021, now the city of Liberal is in a friendly competition with the City of Olney.

The race begins with the flip of a pancake, carrying a pan, and then ends with another flip at the 415 yard finish line.

This tradition has been going on since the 1950s and has been a crowd favorite ever since.

Many are happy to participate in the race and share their times with others who were a part of the fun.

"I'm proud of myself, because I think training was a little bit harder… since the gap of last year… and it's also hard to run by yourself and push yourself to have a faster time," said one participant of the race.
