Biden urges SCOTUS not to block vaccine mandate

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - The Biden Administration is urging the Supreme Court not to block the federal vaccine and testing mandate for large employers, citing the continued spread of Covid-19.

The mandate requires that companies with more than 100 people ensure that their workers are fully vaccinated or undergo regular testing and wear a face covering at work.

The Department of Justice wrote in a filing that the requirement is “saving thousands of lives and preventing hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations."

The Justice Department said if the court chooses to block the vaccine requirement, testing and mask mandates should remain in place.
