Ex-police officer Kim Potter relives Daunte Wright fatal shooting in court

Ex-police officer gives emotional testimony in own defense

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KYMA, KECY/CNN) - The former police officer Kim Potter was called to the stand in her own defense to relive every moment of the traffic stop which ended in the shooting death of Daunte Wright, 20.

The defense rested on Friday after prosecutors declined to call any rebuttal witnesses in the trial of the former Brooklyn Center police officer.

Potter faces manslaughter charges for fatally shooting Wright in April after repeatedly yelling "Taser" during a traffic-stop-turned-arrest on Sunday, April 11.

She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

During the eight days of trial testimonies, jurors heard from 33 witnesses.

Jury instructions and closing arguments are scheduled to begin Monday, December 20.

According to the judge's Tuesday, August 10 order, the jurors will be fully isolated during deliberation.
