Public hearings underway for Imperial Valley College redistricting

Audience is invited to attend upcoming meetings

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Imperial Valley College will be holding several meetings regarding the structure's redistricting.

These public workshops will include information gathering sessions to discuss the college's operations, and audience attendees will be asked for any input.

D.r Lennor Johnson, interim Superintendent/ President, will be moderating the discussions.

“By combining subject matter in these meetings, we hope to encourage more attendance,” Johnson said. “It is very important to IVC that we get maximum participation in both efforts.”

The meetings will each be two hours with the first hour focusing on redistricting and the next opening discussion to information gathering.

“We want you to tell us what is on your mind,” Johnson said.

In-person workshops will be taking place from November 30 to December 7 throughout the Imperial Valley and will each begin at 6 p.m.

The meetings are as follows:

  • November 30: Finley Elementary School Cafeteria, 627 E. Sixth St., Holtville;
  • December 1: Brawley Chamber of Commerce 204 S. Imperial Ave., Brawley;
  • December 2: Calipatria Unified School District Board Room, 501 W. Main St., Calipatria;
  • December 2: San Pasqual Valley High School Library, Route 1, 676 Baseline Road, Winterhaven
  • December 6: Central Union High School District Board Room, 351 W. Ross Ave., El Centro
  • December 7: Calexico Unified School District Board Room, 901 Andrade Ave., Calexico
