Video Blog: Yuma honors its veterans

A parade commemorates the people who put their lives on the line for the U.S.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Thursday, November 11 is Veterans Day, made to honor those who served our country.

The City of Yuma put together a parade on South 4th Avenue dedicated to our veterans, with special appearances from Yuma's mayor, politicians, and even Santa Claus.

Our gallery features photos of those who participated in the events, from local organizations to the Yuma Police Department and the many veterans who gave their time to serve.

Video was also taken focusing on the vehicles that passed by, which held many volunteers.

The former Marine who stopped a recent gas station robbery, James Kilcer, was one of the first to lead the parade as he waved hi. Some congratulatory yells of thanks could be heard as he passed by the onlookers.

Many would say the parade was a great success, with many great participants and lots of honor given to our veterans.
