Facebook told to ‘brace for more bad headlines’ in coming days

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Facebook staff is being told to brace for more bad headlines in the coming days as stories based on a cache of tens of thousands of leaked documents from the company continue to come out.

In the past, public discourse was largely curated by established gatekeepers in the media who decided what people could read, see and digest. Social media has enabled people to decide for themselves, according to the Vice President.

It all comes as information from the Facebook whistleblower, Frances Haugen, recently revealed more about the company's role in the U.S. Capitol riots on January 6th.

An internal analysis by Facebook found the company's policies did not slow down or stop the "Stop the Steal" and "Patriot Party" movements.
