TUCSON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-Border Patrol agents arrest two fugitives who escaped from a prison in Florence, Colorado, Wednesday.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection says agents patrolling west of Sells, pulled over a 2010 Nissan Titan for an immigration traffic stop.

Agents say they encountered a 30-year-old woman driving the vehicle along with two men.

The two men initially claimed to be undocumented immigrants wishing to be immediately returned to Mexico.

However, they finally admitted to agents they were U.S. citizens and had escaped from a prison in Florence, Colorado, May 27th.

Both 35-year-old Jose Rodriguez and 42-year-old Raul Guzman are serving multiyear sentences for various drug charges.

Agents arrested Rodriguez and Guzman, as well as the driver, and turned them over to the U.S. Marshals Service.
