Mexicali surpasses Tijuana in total cases

MEXICALI, Baja California (KYMA, KECY) - The Baja California Secretary of Health delivered a press release on the latest coronavirus numbers in the state.

There are now 4,177 confirmed cases in Baja California, with 969 total deaths.

Mexicali has now surpassed Tijuana in total cases, leading with 1,898. Tijuana had previously been leading Baja California, however Mexicali has quickly surpassed the larger city in a matter of days.

Tijuana now has 1,854 cases, and leads Baja California in terms of deaths, now with 466, much larger than Mexicali's death toll of 161.

The latest statistics also show a large discrepancy between male and female cases. The male category leads with 63 percent of all confirmed cases in the state.
