Imperial County recoveries reach 500, cases continue to rise

Two more deaths reported

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Imperial County reports 69 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) this weekend, bringing the total of cases to 1,145.

Imperial County health officials also confirmed another two deaths as result of the virus, bringing the countywide death toll to 23.

According to the county, eight of these deaths belong in the 70-79 age-range, and nine belong to the 80 and older category.

In addition, the Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) reports the county is now at 500 recoveries, compared to 622 active cases in the county.

So far, Imperial County reports it has tested over 8,000 individuals
