Car washes are struggling in this pandemic

EL CENTRO,Calif. (KYMA,KECY) - The car wash industry is among the many industries that experienced an economic hit.

Romeo’s Car wash in El Centro says these last few months have been really hard.

“Well so far business-wise it's bad and you know people still are not traveling, not going out ya know we lost more than 50 percent of the business,” said Nick the Supervisor.

Nick says that even the small business paycheck protection program also known as PPE has not helped them enough to make ends meet.

“Ok well for sure it will be a big impact gross wise we still have to pay our expenses insurance, rent and all that. And the help we got from PPE along from the government a portion is forgiveness for the workers but we don’t have workers, we can’t use it all of it we're gonna have to give it back so but we are going to be losing business as making a profit business-wise and so for sure it's going to be negative if it stays like this for a couple of months.”

Nick believes that the government should be focused on a cure.

“Well, hopefully, the government should  settle something some vaccine, or some medication to the coronavirus so people aren’t scared to go out, to enjoy life and life goes on.”

The Struggles of Romeo’s Car Wash is a prevalent reality for many small business owners.
