Local church calls on everyone to execute acts of kindness

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - For years the building that once housed Yuma's Mandarin Theater sat vacant. In 2006, a church moved into the building giving it new life and sparking a religious movement unlike any the city has ever seen. As the church grew in popularity it began to spread into the world wide-web.

Fast forward to the pandemic, where many religious groups took to social media to stay connected. The Vertical Church was already well established on social media and doing services online was an easy transition. But, they didn't stop there.

The group uses its social media platforms to spread a positive message. More recently, they began asking people to engage in acts of kindness. Church members took it upon themselves to reach out to essential workers and first responders to thank them for their efforts.
