6 migrants found hidden in tractor-trailer at Highway 86 checkpoint

Salton City, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-Border Patrol agents arrest a truck driver for human smuggling after they find six undocumented immigrants hidden in his trailer Tuesday morning.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says a man driving a truck trailer approached the Highway 86 immigration checkpoint when a canine alerted to the cargo of the trailer that was covered with a tarp.

After the driver was sent to secondary inspection, agents inspected the cargo and found six people hiding under the tarp.

The driver, a 46-year-old United States citizen and the six undocumented immigrants were placed under arrest.

CBP says the six undocumented immigrants were sent back to Mexico.
