Convicted child sex offender arrested in Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-A sex offender from Honduras is arrested in Yuma after illegally crossing into the United States, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Yuma Station Border Patrol arrested a 28-year-old man on April 20 approximately two miles west of the Andrade Port of Entry.

Agents transported the man to the San Luis Port of Entry to check his records where it was discovered that the man had served a two-year prison sentence for having sex with a minor in San Francisco, Calif. In 2019.

Additional record checks also revealed two prior immigration removals.

CBP says the 28-year-old who will be charged with immigration violations.
