Thousands plunge into Lake Michigan to raise money

CHICAGO, Illi. (KYMA, KECY)- More than 4 thousand people dove into Lake Michigan in the Chicago Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Participants wore swimsuits, costumes and uniforms. Over 7,500 Special Olympic athletes will benefit from the event.

Organizers say the event raised more than $2 million.
