Rain and possible thunderstorms expected this weekend

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- Continued dry conditions and well above normal temperatures are forecast today Friday under partly to mostly cloudy skies before a period of rain showers Friday night.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), A wet Pacific weather system will likely bring light to moderate rain across much of the region later Friday night and Saturday morning with lingering chances of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms through early Sunday morning.

Temperatures this weekend will fall back to near or below normal readings before recovering slightly into early next week.

Dry conditions are expected next Monday into the middle of next week under generally clear skies along with a steady warming trend.
