Mayor Nicholls traveling to Israel for mayors conference

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- The Mayor of Yuma, Douglas Nicholls is scheduled to visit Israel next week for a global conference.

The City of Yuma says Mayor Nicholls will be representing Yuma at the Municipal Innovation Conference (MUNI Expo) from February 18-20.

This will be a three-day international program to discuss topics like smart cities-innovation, urban planning, transportation, and the threats of urban terrorism in smart cities.

The mayor aims to promote the Yuma megaregion in the global market.

“This conference is an amazing opportunity to showcase our community, our industries, our people, and all that we have to offer in Yuma at the international market. The Yuma region will once more be at the global forefront," said Mayor Nicholls.

Mayor Nicholls' mission in Israel is to promote Yuma's megaregion by talking about the economy's development and job growth.

According to the City of Yuma, the mayor will be meeting with other mayors and political leaders to discuss potential opportunities for collaboration.
