Rain and thunderstorms Monday

Yuma County and Imperial Valley expecting to receive rain

(KYMA, KECY)- Yuma County and surrounding areas are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms Monday into early Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, a low-pressure system will continue moving across the region through the first half of the week.

This will result in a period of cooling temperatures and good chances for rain.

The best opportunity for rainfall will be Monday and Tuesday but could linger over parts of south-central Arizona through Wednesday.

The region will be receiving winds from the northeast at around 5 mph.

High temperatures for Monday will be 61 degrees. There will be an 80% chance of rain before 11 am, and possibly a thunderstorm between 11 am and 2 pm.
