Carrot Festival kicks off in Imperial County

HOLTVILLE, Calif.(KYMA, KECY)-Carrot festivities are in full force in Holtville.

The carrot capital of the world will hold it's 73rd Carrot Parade on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of activities taking place this week.

Today the Carrot Carnival kicks off at 4:00 p.m. The three-day carnival will have amusement rides, carnival games, and food. It will run through Sunday.

This year the Holtville Chamber of Commerce will hold a kick-off party Friday night from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

The party will include a beer garden and live music from local bands.

Holtville natives say the Carrot Festival is a tradition they look forward to every year.
