NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A community came together Thursday night to mourn and remember a young victim of the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash.

13-year-old Alyssa Altobelli played basketball with Bryant's daughter, Gianna. Her mother and father also died in the accident.

On Thursday, Alyssa's family, friends, and former teammates in her hometown of Newport Beach came together to remember her.

Her uncle called her the next basketball superstar. Others recalled her passion for sports, as well as her infectious laugh. Still others vowed to follow her example and always strive for excellence.

Investigators still haven't determined a specific cause for last Sunday's tragic crash in Calabasas, California.
