Border agents arrest 19-year-old with fentanyl strapped to his thighs

TUCSON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- A 19-year-old is arrested after Border Patrol agents found fentanyl taped to his thighs.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said on January 22, agents working the Interstate 19 Immigration checkpoint near Amado encountered the 19-year-old U.S. citizen during a routine inspection of a passenger shuttle van.

After agents questioned the man and performed a search, it led to the discovery of pills taped to the man's thighs.

CBP said the pills weighed 243 grams.

The 19-year-old was arrested and faces felony drug charges for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute.
