A baby girl is the first-born of 2020 in Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, FOX 9) - One Yuma family is celebrating both the arrival of the new year and the arrival of a beautiful bundle of joy.

Baby Azuri Alina Torres is adorable and she’s so peaceful.

News 11's Ciara Encinas visited her and her family who are overjoyed to welcome her.

Azuri is the first baby of 2020 and is the first baby for both mom and dad.

Her dad, Anthony Torres is so proud of mom and baby for getting through the delivery successfully.

Her mom, Prisila Espinoza, said it was a shock to welcome Azuri as the first baby of the year in Yuma.

”You see her for the first time and you’re just so
Happy to see her," explained Espinoza. “It’s a coincidence. I had my first baby and for the new year.”

Prisila and Anthony welcomed Azuri fifteen days earlier than they expected, but both parents and her grandparents have high hopes for the baby.
