United States (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Homelessness increased by 2.7 percent in the United States in 2019, with California having the highest rate.

The increase in California homelessness is higher than all states combined, according to Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

There were however a majority of states that marked declines between 2018 and 2019.

The report also showed homelessness among veterans to be half of what was reported in 2010. For families and children the numbers continue to fall, being down nearly 5% since 2018

Currently the homeless problem in California and Oregon is continuing to grow, with homelessness in California increasing by 21,000 people in 2019.
