Tecate CBP officers seize over $900K worth of marijuana

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- Over 2,400 pounds of marijuana stashed in a shipment of wood furniture was seized by CBP officers in Tecate.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said on December 10, a 25-year-old Mexican citizen entered the port of entry driving a white bobtail truck with cargo manifested as wood furniture.
The port's imaging system detected unusual items concealed within the contents of the truck.
Agents said a canine alerted to the palletized shipment of wooden furniture where agents discovered large wrapped packages.

CBP officers removed 81 large wrapped packages of marijuana mixed withing the shipment of wood furniture, weighing over 2,400 pounds with an estimated street value of $990,000.
CBP seized the truck and marijuana.
The driver was turned over to Homeland Security Investigation agents for further processing.
