Tip from Microsoft led to arrest

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Prosecutors say a tip from Microsoft helped send a Tucson man to prison for 15-years, plus a lifetime on probation.

The investigation against 63-year-old Donald Edward Coburn started in February. That's when Tucson police and special investigators with the Arizona Attorney General's office got a tip from Microsoft representatives. They reported its services were being used to view child pornography on a computer in Tucson.

Investigators then traced that computer to Coburn. Police recovered that computer, two flash drives, and an external hard drive while searching his apartment. The devices contained hundreds of pornographic images of children.

Coburn pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. He is a registered sex offender previously convicted of first degree child molestation in Washington state.

To report the online exploitation of children, the Arizona Attorney General's office urges you to visit the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Cyber Tipline.
