Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival promises uplifting experience

Caballeros de Yuma

3 days of high-flying fun float into Yuma this weekend

It won't be long until the skies over Yuma are filled with the site of colorful, majestic hot air balloons.

On Friday morning the Caballeros de Yuma kick off their annual Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival.

This year nearly 30 big beautiful balloons from all across the west will participate in the event.

Mass ascensions - when the balloons all take flight around the same time - are scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Saturday night features something truly special - Desert Glow. That's when tethered balloons fire their burners at full blast and light up the night.

You can't beat the price of admission. Just one can of food will let you witness mass ascension. You can see Desert Glow for just two-dollars, plus a can of food. And all the food collected goes to Crossroads Mission.
