City of Yuma releases final election results

Re-elected incumbent city councilman Mike Shelton, and newly elected members Chris Morris and Ema Lea Shoop

The City of Yuma released its final, unofficial results from the November 5, 2019 municipal election on Tuesday.

Mike Shelton, Ema Lea Shoop and Chris Morris will begin their four year terms on the city council in January 2020. 

Shelton, who has already served on the council received the most votes finishing with 48 percent of the vote, while one single vote separated Shoop and Morris who both finished with 43 percent of the vote. 

  • Bradley, Jason  36%
  • Morris, Chris  43%
  • Scarborough, Robert 40%
  • Shelton, Mike 48%
  • Shoop, Ema Lea  43%
  • Thomas, Edward  38%
  • Write-ins  1%

7,999 people voted in this election, according to the City of Yuma.
