Palmcroft Elementary opens S.T.E.A.M. building

A new building at Palmcroft Elementary School will be a new learning environment and getaway for students and parents.

The building is called the Palmcroft Panthers Makerspace where there are several sciences, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) stations.

Along with these stations, there are sensory spots for students who need it.

One of these sensory spots includes the school garden, which some special needs students utilize when they just need to get away from the classroom. Other students through-out the school also volunteer to help with the garden as well.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was on Tuesday in front of the school and parents. The building isn’t fully complete yet and isn’t anticipated to be fully running until the end of November.

However, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony students and parents were able to see a rough layout of how the inside will look once complete.
