Potential Snapchat threat prompts investigation at Centennial Middle School

The Yuma Police Department ( YPD ) is currently interviewing students at Centennial Middle School (CMS) after a potential Snapchat threat was made Friday morning.

According to the Public Relations Coordinator for Crane Schools Mario Hogue, the threat was sent to a CMS student and immediately prompted the student to notify school officials.

The school has contacted YPD and Crane School District administration in the interest and safety of both middle schools.

Yuma Police Department has confirmed the originator of the Snapchat photo is not a Crane School District student.

As of now, YPD is investigating the threat.

CMS posted on Facebook, ” As always, our top priority is the safety, security, and wellbeing of our students and staff. We will share all the new information immediately with our families and communities as it is made available. ”
