Major cartel bust in Mexico City

Security forces arrest more than 30 suspected cartel members and seize tons of drugs during a major bust in Mexico City.

Dozens of officers swarmed buildings in a part of the Mexican capitol known for illegal activity. The raid led then through a maze of tunnels to a pair of suspected drug labs used to produce synthetic drugs.

Officers seized 110-pounds of chemicals, two tons of marijuana, and 20 kilos of cocaine. They also found a weapons stockpile which included rocket launchers and hand grenades. In additon , officers seized an unspecified amount of cash.

The bust comes on the heels of some stunning acts of cartel violence. Last week gunmen went on a rampage during the attempted arrest of a drug lord ‘s son. A separate gunfight killed 13 police officers.
