Imperial named safest city in California

A security website has named Imperial the safest city in California.

The Home Security Advisor used FBI data to compare cities by population, number of violent crimes, and number of property crimes. Violent crime would include assaults, rapes, murders, and robberies. Property crimes include burglary, arson, and car theft.

Last year Imperial only had nine cases of violent crime, and 77 property crimes. Those numbers are far lower than many cities with comparable populations.

Soledad, Moraga, Orinda, and Los Altos Hills round out the top five.
