Arizona couple sentenced for baby son’s death
A Tucson couple learns how they’ll be punished for killing their six-month-old son.
Zechariah MacDonald and Tamara Fowler originally faced first-degree murder charges, but made a plea deal with prosecutors.
MacDonald will spend five-years in prison for manslaughter.
Fowler, the infant’s mother will spend 30-years on probation on charges of negligent homicide and child abuse.
Prosecutors say MacDonald covered the infant with blankets to drown out his crying. The couple called paramedics when the baby lost consciousness. He later died at a Tucson hospital.
