Pop culture fans fill civic center for Yuma Con 2019

Heroes and villains alike packed the civic center for the fifth annual Yuma Con 2019.

Hundreds dressed as their favorite characters and enjoyed life-size arcades, video game tournaments, and even Jedi training.

City of Yuma Marketing Specialist, Ana Lazo-Padilla said the event continues to grow every year as they look to meet the needs of the community.

” It’s anime, pop culture. And we’re growing and really becoming a rich town of need and culture. And the arts are exploding here in Yuma so this is what we hear. And this is why we’re doing this year. ”

Lazo-Padilla said Yuma Con 2019 was made possible thanks to sponsors and local agencies.
