Search underway for hit and run driver

An update on the crime scene that left one Yuma public housing community near 17th Street and 3rd Avenue taped off for hours Monday night.

Officers said they responded to a disturbance and found a man hit by a car.

The Yuma Police Department to started with a fight between several people.

Officers found evidence of one shot was fired.

The bullet didn’t hurt anyone. It caused no damage.

YPD hasn’t made any arrests, but officers do have a description of the car that got away.

” It was a white four-door passenger car, ” said Sergeant Lori Franklin, YPD . “They have not been located and interviewed as to what their side of the story is.”

The man hit by the car wasn’t seriously hurt.
