The community of San luis celebrated the 40th anniversary of Founder’s Day with a parade Saturday morning.

Residents lined up on the sidewalks of the city to marvel at floats and live music.

San Luis Mayor, Gerardo Sanchez said the event serves as a reminder of how far the city has come.

“You need to be proud of your community. You need to be proud because one first and foremost we live here. We try to make this a better place for everyone. And people understand. Change has been occurring in the past 10 years. That are very positive changes for the city of San Luis. So people are excited, and they want to be part of it,” said Sanchez.

Next Friday the city of San Luis will also be celebrating their Founders Day festival at Joe Orduno park.
