Kofa High School students assist in Yuma Bridal Expo

Seven cosmetology students from Kofa High School ( KHS ) put their skills to work at the Yuma Bridal Expo last Saturday.

These seven students are part of Career and Technical Education’s Cosmetology II classes at KHS .

” Despite the feeling scared, I felt good knowing I was doing what I love to do the most on beautiful models, ” Kofa senior Annie Lamas said. ” The Bridal Expo was an awesome event for our community, and I was proud to be a part of it with my classmates. ”

The students styled all the models’ hair for the annual fashion show.

“I was really impressed at how they were able to handle the situation promptly and how professional they were while helping the models get ready for the show,” KHS Cosmetology teacher Liz Moreno said. “Their hairstyling skills are beautiful and the models were all very happy and looked great on stage.”

YUHSD said after completing Cosmetology I as junior, seniors are eligible to take Cosmetology II at Yuma School of Beauty and is required to complete 1,000 hours.
