Quintero murder trial continues, alleged murderer still on stand

The man accused of killing the mother of his children and injuring her coworker finished his testimony on the stand speaking to State of Arizona prosecutors and the defense.

Óscar Quintero detailed to prosecutors the relationship between himself and who he called his wife, Clarissa Medina.

He claimed their relationship was constant with good days and bad days.

Prosecutors questioned the relationship with a letter written by Medina to the defendant that was written in April 2017 that detailed the couple’s story was not always a whirlwind romance.

Medina wrote that she grew into love with Quintero.

“I regret how we started but I don’t regret you, Oscar,” read the prosecutor.

Text messages between the couple were also brought forward by prosecutors.

A message was written by Medina to the defendant on July 31, 2017, stating how she did not feel like she was enough for her partner.

“You’ve been telling me for a while now that I’m no good as a wife,” read the State prosecutor. “I’m not enough for you.”

Clashing testimonies between Quintero and Medina’s sister were also brought to light inside the courtroom before Oscar Quintero’s defense team rested their case.

The alleged murderer claimed Medina was spending time with him the night before she was shot dead, but Medina’s sister said the two were together at home cooking dinner.

Medina’s sister also testified she did not believe Medina and Quintero saw each other as much as Quintero testified they did after the couple’s breakup on November 5, 2017.

Quintero said multiple times he never had any intent to hurt anyone.

The defendant is accused of shooting the mother of his children to death and shooting her co-worker in the face in a Somerton parking lot on January 3, 2018.

Closing arguments are expected to begin Thursday.
