Team Rubicon partners with American Red Cross to help resident with burned home

Team Rubicon is a volunteer-based disaster assistance response team that is based nationally, regionally and locally. This organization acts as first responders to a disaster.

They partner with other organizations, such as the American Red Cross, with the same mission to help others.

On June 7 an 85-year-old resident from Quartzsite , Forrest Nolan, and his dog were victims of an electrical trailer fire from the air conditioning unit left on during Nolan’s absence. His story would not reach others until later that month.

On July 3 the American Red Cross Yuma Chapter reached out to Team Rubicon in Yuma District to assist in supporting Forrest with any assistance possible in recovering from the fire. Forrest’s initial support was only to assist in debris removal and the disposal of his burned 5th Wheel Trailer home.

Since the fire and debris removal Nolan has been staying with his neighbor and currently does not have the ability or funds to resolve this situation on his own.

His trailer is expected to be towed off the lot sometime in the next two weeks.
