CBP seize over $253K worth of meth hidden inside vehicle

Over $253,000 hidden inside a vehicle were seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of San Luis early Tuesday afternoon.

CBP officials said a 22-year-old man was sent to secondary inspection for his Chevrolet sedan as he tried to enter the United States from Mexico on Tuesday. A CBP canine alerted to the vehicle leading agents to discover methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle’s fenders and below the windshield area.

The drugs weighed almost 85 pounds and valued at more than $253,000.

Officers seized the drugs, vehicle, and arrested the man. He was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
