Yuma students brought weapons on school bus

Two Ron Watson Middle School students were caught with weapons on a school bus Friday.

The students had a small hand-sized BB gun and a small knife. They were both removed from the bus, according to Yuma Elementary School District One.

In a statement to News 11 Yuma Elementary School District One said safety is their top priority.

“On Friday, Nov. 16, two students from Ron Watson Middle School were removed from a bus by Yuma County Sheriff’s Office for possession of a small hand-sized BB gun and a small knife. No threats were made to students in any way. Appropriate measures have been taken to ensure the continued safety of all students. Safety is a top priority for Yuma Elementary School District One.”
