Events at the library: Week of November 19

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 19:

Libraries Closed for Thanksgiving

Libraries in the Yuma County Library District: Main, Heritage, Foothills, San Luis, Somerton, and Wellton will close at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, and will remain closed all day Thursday, November 22, and Friday, November 23, in observance of Thanksgiving. The libraries will resume their regular hours Saturday, November 24.

During the week of November 19, the Roll Library, located in the Mohawk Valley School, will be closed. Regular hours will resume Monday, November 26.

During the week of November 19, the Dateland Library, located in the Dateland Elementary School, will only be open Monday, November 19, and Tuesday, November 20, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Regular hours will resume Monday, November 26.

Fiddlers

On Tuesday, November 20, enjoy all your favorite tunes during a live performance of the Territorial Chapter of the AZ Old Time Fiddlers Association at 3:00 p.m. at the Foothills Library. There is no charge to attend.

Genealogy: How to Create a Memorial on Fold3

On Saturday, November 24, the Genealogical Society of Yuma will present “How to Create a Memorial on Fold3” at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library. Learn how to utilize military records, photos, and personal documents to create a digital memorial for your loved one. Presenter Judith Marcum will also discuss the significance of the folds in the flag. There is no charge to attend.
