Dozens of migrants from caravan arrive in Mexicali

After a journey that lasted about a month from Central America to the United States, hundreds of migrants from the caravan comprised of more than 600 people arrived in Mexicali Friday morning.

Among that group of people was 15-year old Eran Osuna, who left his country of Honduras with a dream of reuniting with his mother. Osuna told us he has not seen her since he was three-years-old.

“Since I was three-years-old my mother left, I don’t know who my mother is and that’s one reason why I left,” said Osuna.

Eran added that at a young age he suffered from the separation from his mother. He was also a victim of the organized crime in Honduras that prompted him to leave immediately.

“In my country recently, I was going to die from situations that had to do with the gangs. They wanted to force me to get into their group and because I didn’t, they beat me up for it,” said Osuna.

Eran, along with dozens of other migrants, said they will continue their journey trying to seek asylum in Tijuana where they wait to see what’s next for them and their families.
