Local measure can fund upgrades for Heber Elementary School District

Heber Elementary School is beginning to fall apart at the seams but if a new measure is passed it would help the school with some major upgrades. Juan Cruz, Heber Elementary School District Superintendent said, “Our fencing need attention. We’d really like to make sure that our campus is secure and we keep individuals that don’t belong in schools out.”

If Measure A is approved, Heber Elementary School District will have $4 million in funds to help the school make needed upgrades Cruz added, “That’s the important thing is that every member of this community understand what we’re trying to accomplish and that they understand that we’re doing this for the betterment of our kid’s education.” School officials have met community members to explain how the measure can affect the future of their students. One Heber Resident said, “There’s nothing but a farming community here. People are kind of hard up on money right now you know.” But some residents might not be willing to pay the property tax increase if Measure A is approved. said, “If it’s not comfortable in the classroom, education is hard.
