Motorcyclist shot during Northern California police chase
Sheriff’s deputies in Northern California have killed a robbery suspect they say opened fire during a motorcycle chase.
The motorcyclist died Monday afternoon in Meyers, an unincorporated community south of Lake Tahoe and east of Sacramento.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office says police in South Lake Tahoe began chasing the motorcyclist, who was wanted on a warrant for armed robbery.
Authorities say deputies were asked to join in the chase after the man shot at police and entered county jurisdiction.
The driver was treated at the scene but died. His name hasn’t been released.
No police officers or deputies were hurt.
