No charges against driver involved in fatal accident

Yuma police confirmed that the driver involved in the fatal accident Thursday night will not face charges.
The pedestrian has been identified as 70-year-old Maria Mendoza, according to the Yuma Police Department.

A 70-year-old woman was hit and killed by a truck Thursday night while crossing the street in the 2600 block of West 16th Street, according to the Yuma Police Department.
Yuma police said 16th Street between Avenue B and Athens Avenue will be closed for the next few hours.
Officers responded to the call at around 6:15 p.m. The 70-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a Toyota Tundra heading east. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
