YCSO needs help identifying vehicle that killed woman

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying the vehicle possibly involved in the fatal vehicle vs pedestrian incident that happened on September 26, in the 13200 block of East 44th Street.

YCSO said they are searching for one ton dually large truck, dark-colored (possibly red over gray), with overhead cab lights and running lights on the rear fenders.

The vehicle may have sustained damage to the front passenger headlamp assembly and or the quarter panel.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol is a factor.

ORIGINAL STORY: Woman dies after being involved in hit-and-run crash, family say

Fifty-four-year-old Antonia Wood, a Yuma resident, has been identified as the victim who died after being struck by a white Ford pickup on Wednesday, according to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

“Normally, they do a lot of walking. They usually walk their dogs but this time they walked down the street less than about a block out from our house,” described a family member.

The driver of the pickup then continued west on 44th Street without stopping.

Wood’s family is now looking for justice.
