Two Cibola alumni to receive American FFA degrees

Madison Moreno and Harleigh Auza will earn their American FFA degrees and will be recognized on October 26, at the 91st National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Earning the American FFA Degree is the highest degree any FFA member can earn, fewer than 1 percent of all FFA members hold this degree.

“Madison and Harleigh have worked tirelessly throughout their FFA careers,” Cibola FFA Adviser Erika Derma said. “Cibola FFA is extremely proud of these two young ladies and they continue to be role models for our chapter.”

Moreno and Auza both started their agriculture education careers in 2013 under the advisement of Tosha Freytag, which sparked their interest in FFA. Throughout their careers they both had numerous achievements, most notably winning the state agricultural issues career development event.

Their passion for FFA has pushed them to pursue degrees in the agricultural field. Moreno with the University of Kentucky and Auza with the University of Arizona.

“As former students, both of these young ladies not only serve as role models for the Cibola FFA chapter,” Derma added. “They are also young adults the Yuma FFA District looks up to.”
