Man accused of luring child for sex in court

The man accused of barging inside a home in Yuma and luring a 10-year-old girl for sex in exchange for money was seen by a judge on Thursday.

The suspect, Chad Edward Diener, is facing felony charges of attempted molestation, luring a minor and criminal trespassing.

The Yuma Police Department said the incident happened Tuesday morning.

“Police were called, we located him in the area,” Sgt. Lori Franklin with the Yuma Police Department said. “He was arrested and booked reference trespass and soliciting sex.”

According to the prosecutor, the offense wasn’t the first the suspect has made against a minor.

During Diener’s court appearance, the prosecutor requested his bond be raised by the judge after she said the suspect has a violent history.

The judge raised the suspect’s bond to $500,000 dollars.

His next court appearance is June 15.
