Chase through streets of Calexico to El Centro leads to four being arrested

Earlier this morning , a deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle that had expired registration and false tabs. When the deputy signaled for the vehicle to pull over, two of the passengers ran and the vehicle took off.

Chief Deputy, Scott Sheppard, said that as the deputy “effected the traffic stop by turning on his lights and sirens, the vehicle pulled over and two passengers ran off. And then the vehicle took off.

Sheppard says it was all in a days work for the deputy who pulled them over. “Well, it’s a common practice for a deputy sheriff to try to prevent and deter crime. To find out where the vehicles are from and if there’s any violations of law on a vehicle.”

The chief deputy gives this advice to residents in the valley. “If you’re pulled over with the lights and siren of a law enforcement vehicle, it’s in your best interest to stop, so that you do not endanger the public or yourself.”

All four individuals were arrested for crimes such as failure to yield, reckless driving and one with a possession of a drug paraphernalia just to name a few.
