2 children found dead inside car, mom facing murder charges

A woman is facing murder charges after her two children were found dead inside a car Tuesday morning near the U.S. 60 and Mary Drive in Superior, Ariz., authorities said.

12 News in Phoenix reported that the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Superior Police Department as an investigation is being conducted regarding the deaths of the two children.

According to Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), a two-year-old child and a 10-month-old child were found dead and strapped to car seats inside a car.

Authorities said 20-year-old Brittany Velasquez, the children’s mother, is facing two counts of murder.

“Evidence on scene indicated foul play,” a PCSO press release said.

An investigation is still underway by the sheriff’s office.
