Known gang member apprehended by Border Patrol
El Centro Border Patrol agents arrested a known gang member near the Calexico West Port of Entry on Tuesday.
An agent patrolling half a mile east of the port of entry noticed a man entering the United States by scaling over the international fence at around 3:15 p.m.
After a quick chase, agents were able to apprehend the man who was transported to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing.
“This arrest demonstrates how important Border Patrol agents’ work is to ensuring the safety of our community,” said Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Joyce Golosino.
